Privacy and data retention are important considerations when using any platform that processes your video content. Here is a complete and transparent overview of how shortube.pro handles your data.
What we store
Your video content:
When you submit a YouTube URL or upload a video file, we download and store the source video, extracted audio, thumbnail and generated Shorts in our storage system (Cloudflare R2). This storage enables the processing pipeline and allows you to access your generated clips after processing completes.
Your transcripts:
Full word-level transcripts are stored alongside projects and are used for AI analysis and caption generation.
Your metadata:
Project names, generated titles/descriptions/hashtags and processing status are stored in our database.
Your YouTube OAuth tokens:
If you connect a YouTube channel, we store encrypted OAuth tokens to enable upload and scheduling on your behalf.
Auto-deletion policy
Pay per video and 24-hour pass users:
All project files (source video, audio, generated Shorts) are automatically deleted 24 hours after a project is marked complete. You will not be able to download or view the clips after this window.
7-day, 30-day and 365-day pass users:
Files are retained for the duration of your active pass.
How your data is secured
- Storage encryption at rest (AES-256 on Cloudflare R2)
- OAuth tokens encrypted before storage
- HTTPS for all data in transit
- Access limited to your account only
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion removes all associated projects, files and personal data from our systems within 30 days.
