Getting started

How do I create my first Short?

Sign up, paste a YouTube URL on the Create page, choose a preset, and submit. Our AI will process the video and return up to 10 clip candidates with captions and metadata — typically within 5–10 minutes for a 60-minute video.

Choose TALKING_HEAD for podcasts and interviews, EDUCATIONAL for tutorials, and VIRAL_CREATOR for entertainment content.

Which video formats and sources are supported?

YouTube URLs are the primary input — paste any public YouTube link. Direct file upload (MP4, MOV up to 4GB) is also available. Instagram Reels, TikTok and other platform URLs are not currently supported as source inputs.

How long does processing take?

End-to-end processing has four stages: download (varies by video size), transcription (Whisper large-v3, ~1 min per 10 min of audio), AI clip analysis (~30 sec), and rendering (15–30 sec per Short). A 60-minute video typically completes in 5–10 minutes.

Can I process videos in languages other than English?

Whisper supports transcription in 97+ languages, so captions work globally. AI clip-selection currently produces strongest results for English-language content. Multilingual clip-scoring improvements are in active development.

What is a "preset" and which should I choose?

Presets tune the AI clip detector for different content types. TALKING_HEAD focuses on clean speech and insight moments. PODCAST prioritises guest interactions. EDUCATIONAL finds explanation and demo segments. VIRAL_CREATOR optimises for high-energy moments. MOTIVATIONAL finds emotional peaks.

If you are unsure, run with TALKING_HEAD first — it works well for most conversational content.

Billing & credits

What payment methods are accepted?

We use Cashfree for payments. UPI, debit/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay) and netbanking are all supported. All payments are processed in INR.

What is the difference between credits and passes?

Video credits are consumed one per project — they never expire and are ideal for occasional use. Time-based passes give you unlimited projects within a fixed window (1-day, 7-day, 30-day, or 365-day). Passes are best for high-volume users who process multiple videos per week.

What happens if a project fails?

If a project fails due to a technical error on our side, your video credit is automatically refunded within minutes. No support ticket is needed. You can see the refund in your credit balance immediately on the billing page.

If a project fails due to a private/unavailable video or an unsupported URL, the credit is not refunded as the platform-side issue is outside our control.

Do credits expire?

Pay-per-video credits never expire — they stay in your account until used. Time-based passes (1-day, 7-day, 30-day, 365-day) expire at the end of the time period regardless of how many projects you have run.

How do I get a refund on a purchase?

Email support@vardianotechnologies.com within 7 days of purchase. We review requests case-by-case. Credits that have been used to generate projects are non-refundable. Unused credits on a time-pass may be eligible for a prorated refund within the 7-day window.

Publishing & channels

Which platforms can I publish to?

You can publish directly to YouTube (including scheduling), TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels from the Publish modal on any Short. All platforms are connected via OAuth — no passwords are stored.

Can I connect multiple accounts on the same platform?

Yes. You can connect multiple Google accounts (each with multiple YouTube channels), multiple TikTok accounts, and multiple Meta accounts (Instagram + Facebook). All connected accounts appear in the publish dropdown.

How do I schedule a Short for a future date?

In the publish modal, select a platform, then toggle to "Schedule" mode and pick a date and time. Our scheduler publishes at that exact moment. YouTube scheduled uploads must be set to Public or Unlisted — Private cannot be scheduled by the YouTube API.

Are my OAuth tokens and channel credentials secure?

Yes. All OAuth tokens are AES-256 encrypted at rest. Tokens are scoped only to upload and schedule permissions — we cannot read your private data, analytics, or other content. Tokens are never logged.

What resolution are the output Shorts?

All Shorts are rendered at 1080×1920 (Full HD vertical, 9:16 aspect ratio) at the source video's original frame rate. H.264 encoding ensures compatibility with all platforms.

Features & editing

What enhancement features are available for each Short?

From the Short editor page, you can: enhance audio (noise reduction + loudnorm), remove filler words (um, uh, silence), generate an AI thumbnail with DALL-E 3, translate captions to 10+ languages, add a TTS voiceover, apply B-roll from Pexels, export SRT/VTT caption files, run an A/B caption style test, and apply your brand template.

What caption styles are available?

Eight caption styles: Bold (Hormozi-style), Clean Minimal, Creator Highlight, Word-by-Word, Bounce (animated), Fade-In, Typewriter, and None. All styles burn captions directly into the video with word-level karaoke timing.

Can I use my own brand on the Shorts?

Yes. Create a Brand Template under the Brand section in the sidebar. Add your logo, set primary/secondary colors, choose a font, and set watermark position. Apply the template to any Short from the Enhance panel.

What is A/B caption testing?

A/B render creates a second version of your Short with a different caption style. Both versions are rendered independently so you can publish each to a different platform or scheduling slot and compare performance.

How does filler word removal work?

The filler removal processor identifies common filler words (um, uh, like, you know, so, actually, basically, right) and silence gaps longer than 0.6 seconds from the transcript, then uses FFmpeg to re-cut the video removing those segments. The output is a tighter, faster-paced Short.

Data & storage

How long are my videos stored?

For Pay-per-video and 24-hour pass users, processed source videos and rendered Shorts are automatically deleted 24 hours after project completion. Subscription users retain access while their plan is active. Download your Shorts immediately after a project completes.

What is the live stream Shorts feature?

Live Stream Shorts downloads the last 10 minutes of any active YouTube live stream and processes it into Shorts automatically. Go to the Live Streams page, paste the live stream URL, and the pipeline runs in real time. Great for podcasters who stream live.

Is my source video content private?

Yes. Source videos are downloaded to encrypted cloud storage and are only accessible to the processing pipeline. Videos are never shared, used for training data, or accessible by other users. All source files are purged after project completion per our data retention policy.

Security & privacy

What data do you collect and store?

We collect your email (via Clerk auth), connected platform OAuth tokens (encrypted), and the videos/Shorts you process. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the processing providers listed in our Privacy Policy.

Is my payment data secure?

All payment processing is handled by Cashfree — we never see or store your card, UPI, or banking details. Cashfree is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Our servers receive only a payment confirmation, not any financial data.

Can I delete my account and all my data?

Yes. Email support@vardianotechnologies.com to request a full account deletion. All data including project history, Shorts, and OAuth connections will be permanently deleted within 72 hours.
